Tequila cocina has amazing food that will definitely fill you up. It's delicious and traditional Mexican food. A little pricey depending on what you get but it's beyond worth it. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick stop to eat without all the craziness of restaurants.

A hidden treasure... They've been there for a few years they say. We just found them the other day. Their food is yummy... My favorite is their chicken rice soup. I mean... so good. My Donald ordered a burrito. They filled this thing so much they almost couldn't close it. Then he had to eat it with a fork anyway. The staff is so nice... almost too nice. Nah... there's no such thing. ^_~ You can tell though that they're "good people". I like good people. AND they have paletas! Whaaat?! I know, right?! Yum... Too bad they're closed on Sundays... I supppose eveybody deserves a day off. =]

What an amazing find. I'm impressed by the fresh, authentic, and reasonably priced food at this cool restaurant. Gotta try the braised chicken taco on corn tortilla. Portions are large. I bet my carnitas burrito was approaching 2 lbs. Forget Chipolte, this is the place. Amazing. I'll be back.

Yummy! Great food everything is fresh and made right in front of you. I've seen a lot of kitchens and won't eat out of most but this one is clean and well taken care of.

I stopped in on my way home to Chicago as I've scene this place a few times during my travels. Long story short, do yourself a favor and stop in. I had the braised chicken tacos with cilantro and onions with a tamale on the side. The meat was flavorful and tender, not dry or under seasoned. The tamale left something to be desired but overall, I'm extremely happy. I'll be back for more next time I head down to Indy.

Came through the drive thru about a month ago. Ordered $30 worth of food. Every single item was wrong or missing. I called and complained, and was informed that they would replace my entire order for free, next time I came in. A fe weeks later, I stopped in to take them up on that offer, only to be told they "couldn't find my name in the book". So I left hungry. Tonight, I called and talked to the manager and explained the situation. She said she didn't recall talking to me. Which I KNOW is bogus. But whatever. Went to pick it up, I had to pay for all my sides, and the meal ended up costing me $20 anyway. The guacamole was completely brown, and the tacos were a mess. I will never spend another dime there, and I would recommend not giving them the time of day. Businesses should honor what they promise their customers.

I stopped in for a quick bite after a business meeting in Crown Point. Since this was my first visit, I ask a lot of questions of the two ladies behind the counter. They were both very friendly and had a solid grasp of the different food items in the operation. I ordered the burrito bowl, that once filled must have weighed 2 pounds! The ingredients were all fresh, the chicken was hot off the grill, and the guacamole on top was fantastic. The bowl and a tea was $8. Great experience, I will be back with the family.

I went through the drive thru and as soon as I pulled up...the first thing I thought was "man, that's alot of cash for tacos and burritos" ... (I'm not use to paying that much for "mexican" food as I usually go to El Amigo) I thought about skipping out but I figured I would give it a shot since there are no other "taco places" nearby. So...I ordered my food: a burrito & taco and a drink...I tried ordering a root beer and they told me they did not have root beer...although that is one of the options to choose from on their drive thru menu (if you go, try ordering a root beer, let's all try ordering root beer until they change it...lol). The girl at the drive thru was nice however, it did take awhile for me to get my food...which is probably a good sign that they are making it fresh. In the end, the food was A-Ok but way too expensive. If you don't have root beer take it off your menu...I will be back as I really want to try more of whats on the menu and I also want to check out the inside, it looked nice.

Lack of consistency in the food quality and service. Depending on the teen girl working there when you go, service will be different...it is as if they weren't all trained wth the same protocol. I mean, how does a taco joint not offer you salsa on a drive thru order. How about some plastic utensils or even napkins?? If you are lucky, the rice will taste fresh...but usually its not very crowded with customers so the rice is OFTEN dried out and old. Too bad too, because when it is fresh and consistent service, its pretty good...albeit, VERY overpriced. For fast Mexican, I'll stick with Chipotle and Quidoba...but if I am near this place I eat here and keep my fingers crossed the stars are align for a good eating experience.

Great food. Very fresh. The guacamole is excellent as was everything else. As good as it gets!

Worth the trip, especially for the carnitas! Had the burrito and it was top notch, compatible to Chipotle only not as commercial. My daughter loves the salmon tacos as well.

The service at the drive through was so slow. I ordered the steak burrito and the "punkin spice orchata". I wish they would have someone spell check their sign, it looks bad. It doesn't take that much time to look up both words in their respected online dictionaries. It made me think, if they didn't take the care and time to look up the correct spelling of pumpkin or horchata, then what else can they be careless about? I thought that maybe the food would make up for the long wait or the misspelled words on the sign, but it didn't. The chips are just ok. The salsa, well I wouldn't even considerate it to be Mexican salsa, but just plain tomato sauce from a can that could very well be put into an Italian pasta dish and it probably could never even distinguish itself as Mexican salsa, because it didn't have the slightest flavor of ANYTHING Mexican tasting. The burrito was plain there weren't any flavors in the burrito that would make it remotely memorable. The steak itself was flavorless, the other condiments in the burrito too, like the guacamole didn't stand out either. In a burrito, what makes it memorable are the distinct flavors of each ingredient that can somehow harmonize themselves with every bite full. To tell you the truth the impact of a burrito has got to start with the way the meat is prepared and how it's cooked because it's the aftermath of the prep and cooking of the meat that will allow the juices to ooze into the other ingredients and then collaborate in taste. The corn in the burrito was also bland. Not impressed at all with anything. And they are TOTALLY over priced for what they're selling and on top of that it's not even quality.

The food here is awesome! The quality does vary upon each visit, and the sweet counter girls get flustered and make orders wrong very often, BUT the delicious taco's make up for it. With a little more organization this place could flourish, I would like to keep it our secret taco joint though! We hit it up twice a week and my taco loving husband is very happy every time, as am I, a picky "no gristly weird fat on my steak" kinda girl. Try it out, we were very surprised and happy with this little "hidden gem" right down the street. I love the Carne Asado tacos, but the $1.50 braised chicken tacos on Monday cannot be beat, add a $2 order of chips and salsa and your good to go!

I would only recommend this place because there isn't a chipotle in the area. Lets start from the beginning. I didn't feel like there was easy access to the back to start my order. If this place was busy at the time I went in, I would have bumped into people eating and when I'd go back to get my drink I would have to push through to those waiting at the beginjing of the line. There isnt a menu posted sonyou have to grab a paper menu to look at. Too many choices. This is what makes Chipotle so great, easy access to the line, easy access to menu, limited menu items. The food was okay. I finished it because I was hungry not because it was great. I didnt care for the actual burrito tortilla in my burrito bowl. The point is to take away the caloric part of the burrito. There isnt anything left of the bowl once you get to the bottom unless you wrap the burrito up yourself. The music I could do without. Either turn it off or throw on something electronic and the volume is turned down. I would also suggest a liquor liscense. Close down the drive thru and get a frozen margarita machine. Decor can be tuned down a lot. All of the dia de los muertos decor is great. Should have kept w that theme. Not the skulls but use their patterns for the walls. All in all I might come back if these changes are made, the food is tied down, if I could get to the line that is. If youre gonna copy a concept, copy it well and dont add to it. Thats why its a successful concept in the first place. Immitation is the highest form of flattery.

Well I had similar to others above. I paid15 dollars for soup and borito both of which were cold.No management to be seen and a lot of horse play with the staff. The owners other larger sit down place is almost as bad as far as service and price. Seems like they hire young kids who know nothing about service. If they ever put a Chipolte in crown point both of these establishment's will have seen there last days.

First visit was OK. Second was bad. Music was SO LOUD we could not carry a conversation with each other. Cost is way too high for a taco. I ordered one steak, one chicken and received two chicken. (There was only one other person there, so not a good sign on the mix up) No adults anywhere. Place was being run by four teens. The tacos were dripping liquid so bad it soaked through the paper in the basket. Meat was overcooked and my 5 year old was freaked out by all of the skulls. Could have picked a different theme for a local family taco joint! Will NOT be going back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
